Church Street Pocket Park

It began when Board Vice President Margaret Kasschau was walking past an empty lot at 238 Church Street. She envisioned a small place for the neighbors to throw a ball, for folks to sit down and enjoy the flowers for a moment. She brought the idea to the rest of the board and it has taken off.

The Friends of Open Space in Keene will be raising money to turn the empty lot into a small park. We plan four small benches, shade trees, annual flowers and a small privacy-fence. As the city of Keene owns the land, we got approval from the city council to go ahead.

Stay tuned for more information about this project.
